| Walter Soto founded Soto Construction Co., Inc. in 1986 and is the President and majority stockholder. He began his career in the construction industry in 1976, learning the trade from the ground up, as a laborer/apprentice, progressing to journey/estimator and then earning the position of Vice President of Operations in a multi-disciplined subcontracting company. In 1985, Mr. Soto began Soto Construction Company as a subcontracting firm. Within a year, he incorporated that company and began working as a prime contractor. Mr. Soto is often consulted for Constructibility Review on developing projects by various agencies, engineers and architects. He has written a training manual for two separate trades, which has been approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. Mr. Soto personally oversees construction management, estimating and scheduling for all projects, and maintains close supervision of all subcontractors to ensure project compliance and conformance with required specifications. In addition to donating his time and skill to the Community, he provides mentoring to new businesses. Alma Jarrett, an Administrator for the Company, oversees contract administration and compliance, as well as accounting controls, finances, office procedures and Human Resources. Ms. Jarrett is the Safety Director and is responsible for employee training and subcontractor compliance to OSHA regulations. In 2003, she became a certified ATSSA Training Control Supervisor and an authorized OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour trainer. Dave Suter is the General Superintendent for Soto Construction since 1996. Mr. Suter has more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry. He was the first individual to be awarded Outstanding Apprentice by the local Operating Engineers during a three-year apprenticeship program. In addition to his expertise in operating earthmoving and paving equipment, Mr. Suter is highly skilled in project coordination and supervision of field personnel and subcontractors. Mr. Suter is a certified ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor and receives ongoing training for Hazard Communication. James Purdy is the Senior Project Manager for the Company. He has over 20 years of successful business management experience and has worked with Soto Construction since 2003. Mr. Purdy is a team builder and highly professional in his approach to problem solving. He is extremely proficient in communication skills, and in his ability to provide feedback and critical analysis. He is highly organized, efficient and personable. Mr. Purdy holds a Master of Arts degree in Organization Management and worked 10 years as a Contracting Officer and Project Manager for Pima County, Arizona. Juan De Perales recently joined Soto Construction as a Senior Estimator. He has over 27 years of experience in the construction industry and supervises the landscape division of the Company. His hands-on knowledge and experience in landscaping is shown by his caring approach to each project. He is highly committed to ensuring Client satisfaction. Daniel Soto supervises the concrete operations of Soto Construction. After 39 years in construction, he has problem-solved issues including layout, form design and concrete finishing techniques. His oversight in the field effectively rounds out the Management Team. |
